Is Stylista a bust?
After what seems like an eternity thanks to advent of Twitter which has made us all much more ADD, the Tyra Banks produced show Stylista debuts tonight on The CW.
But as the blogging heads at New York magazine’s fashion blog The Cut lament, Stylista, well, it ain’t all that ya’ll.
In fact, it would probably suffice just to watch the juicy clips that noteworthy blogs will more likely than not through up the next day.
After watching the first two episodes of the show, The Cut was not impressed with Tyra’s new segue into reality TV one bit.
There hang ups are the following:
1. Way too much acting: “Joe and Anne Slowey are not acting like themselves. Anne is icy when we imagine she’s actually a bubbly sort of lady. Also, she walks really awkwardly in high heels leading us to believe she hardly ever wears them…”
2. Clearly not shot at the Elle offices: “…We know the reality-television business is all fake, but we like to be able to pretend it has at least a little bit of authenticity to it.”
3. More damning, it’s boring: “Watching models wear steak bikinis in photo shoots on ANTM is a phenomenal way to spend an evening. Watching people snip at sheets of paper and glue the pieces together to make a magazine page (because that’s how magazines do it these days?) is a snooze.”
Ouch! And yet I feel even more compelled to check in for a little bit to see what it’s about. Until tomorrow…

wow
I echo the sentiment about the heels I was thinking why is she looking like she never wore heels before?
I was in serious denial like…thats really the Elle office? Huh? no office can be that perfect
And yea they totally edited out the idea conception and brainstorming sessions…you know the things that actually help you do your job.
But on another note (the black girl)Ashlie’s makeup looked banging they need to tape her when she’s putting foundation on in the morning so I can copy her technique and buy the brand!
